Star Surfacing Limited is a family run business based in Hastings East Sussex. We cater for both private and commercial customers offering both Resin Bound stone and Resin Bonded stone along with all the ground works needed to construct a driveway, patio or car park.

We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and are always looking to improve our service and products.

Managing Director, David (George) Gadsden has been in the construction industry for over 35 years and has a broad range of skills and experience in most aspects of surfacing. He has worked for some of the largest surfacing companies in the country and has run his own business for many years. An experienced machine driver having driven most tracked and wheeled vehicles both on the highways and on site as well as holding an HGV class 1 licence. From bricklaying to tarmacing, surface dressing ,concreting, slabbing and almost all types of ground works he has the experience and skills to carry out contracts both commercial and private.

David holds a “Street works supervisors” qualification for excavations and reinstatements in the public highway recognised by local authorities. Also certified in the application of “Colas Grip” anti-skid surfacing. And an approved contractor for Resin Bonded Ltd of Uckfield and “Meon Dekorgrip and Dekorbound surfaces.

Kim Gadsden is a Director and has worked on site as well as in the office for many years. Kim has a wealth of experience dealing with the public and is a great asset to the business. Our 2 year old son George and a young daughter “Rose” means that Kim has her work cut out, but keeps hands on with the business daily.

Mark our son, is now a skilled trowel hand and when he has time away from his studies and university he lends a valuable hand to the family business.

Arran our other son has taken to a career in farming but comes back to assist with his experience in both resin bound and resin bonded stone application.

Luke or “Spanners” has now joined us as a team leader and brings with him ground work skills and is also our mechanic. He also holds a “Street works” qualification.

Jamie our youngest member of staff is a promising trowel hand and does invaluable work in our industrial unit. Organising loads and keeping the stock levels replenished and driving our forklift.

Aaron or “Noaksey” is our power house and our skilled trowel hand as well as a tarmac raker. If a job needs some serious man power Noaksey is there making it look easy at 8 foot tall! (He seems that tall!) He also holds a “Street works” qualification.

Matt an old friend has joined us and brings a lifetime of site work and know how. With excellent driving skills and a grounded professional attitude he makes a great edition to the team.

With this family based foundation to the business our customers get a service that we feel is second to none.

Every member has to successfully pass through a strict vetting procedure, including receiving at least 5 references from previous customers, a face to face interview with a Membership Consultant, a Public Liability Insurance check, visual ID check, and more.

We are also members of the Federation of Small Businesses.

We have a display of ten different colours at our industrial Unit in Parker road that is open 7 days a week 24hrs a day.
